The fourth season of the television series first premiered on VHS and DVD in April 8, 2002 before airing between April and July of 2002 in the UK and Australia.

Production Edit

For ease of filming, Season 5 would have fewer episodes, and from the CGI Reboot, a larger model of Brum was used almost exclusively.

Half of the third season consisted of stories written by the show's staff, The episodes did take some liberties with the source material, in order to fill the runtime and make the stories more accessible. From the fifth season onward, the CGI Reboot would be staff-written.

Two baddies steal all the medals and cups due to be given at the Big Town swimming gala. Brum gives chase as the athletic pair make their getaway in a speedboat. Just as the baddies think they have foiled our hero, Brum water-skis after them. Brum saves the day by reeling in the baddies and returning the medals to the swimmers.

Bubble and Squeak, two of the Big Town baddies, steal Mr and Mrs Bank Manager's newly purchased and much prized golden toilet. Brum saves the day by netting the baddies in a warehouse.

Nick and Rob, two Big Town baddies, steal all the trophies from the Big Town Golf Course, making a swift getaway in a golf buggy they zoom through the Big Town with Brum in hot pursuit. Brum saves the day by catching the trophies.

It is Cup Final in the Big Town. The Big Town Team are losing to the cheating visiting side who are kicking up a fuss. Brum saves the day by coming on as a substitute and scoring the winning goal.

Two children are playing with their home-made robot then it malfunctions and speeds through the Big Town. After a series of mishaps the robot dangles precariously over the edge of a car park. Brum saves the day by

catching it in his seat and returning the rescued robot to the relieved children.

When a baddie attempts to steal a beautiful dress from a Big Town shop window, she runs into trouble. Unable to remove it from the display, she's forced to take the mannequin as well. Brum saves the day by retrieving the

dress and mannequin for the shopkeeper.

Pickpocket Polly strikes at the bowling alley, and The Visiting Man has his wallet stolen. Brum comes to the rescue by bowling over the light-fingered crook.

It is the wheelchair basketball final in the Big Town. The Big Town team are losing by 6 points to 2 with only minutes to go due to unfair play by the opposition. Brum saves the day by teaming up with a keen fan and scoring the winning goal.

Three dancers dressed as gorillas have their money stolen by the secretive Shadow. The chase leads up to the rooftops of the Big Town. Committed to the pursuit, Brum soars above the skyline on a crane. Brum saves the day by nabbing The Shadow in a net.

When an abandoned sofa rolls away from the Corporation men it causes mayhem. Brum races

after the speeding sofa, which comes to rest close to the edge of the Big Town Dump. Brum pushes the sofa back from the brink.

Nick and Rob steal Mr Brillo's prize gnome to sell at their market stall. Brum saves the day by tracking down the baddies and sends them tumbling.

The Corporation Men are adding some ornamental stone balls to the Big Town Square. One of the balls shoots off the back of their van and thunders through the Big Town. Brum saves the day by miraculously catching the ball

and returning it safely to the Big Town Square.

Trivia Edit

This was the first season of several things:

  • The first season to feature the return of Mr Brillo since Brum Goes House Painting.
  • The first season to have episodes released on more than one VHS and DVD before airing on TV.
  • The first season where Scruffy doesn't appear.
  • With a number of 11 out of 13 episodes, Season 4 holds the most episodes released directly to home video before TV, with the exceptions of Brum the Basketball Star, Brum and the Shop Window Dummy and Brum and the Runaway Sofa and as they aired on TV before being released directly to home video and DVD. Although all the UK narrations were released on VHS and DVD before airing on TV.
