Brum and the Kite is the second episode of the first series of Brum.
Plot[]
One day in the park, Brum sees a boy flying a kite. Brum asks to fly the kite, so the boy ties it to Brum's hand crank, then goes to buy ice cream from a nearby truck. However, Brum finds the kite difficult to control due to the strong wind. Eventually, the wind blows the kite away along with Brum's hand crank. The boy sees this and he and Brum chase after the kite. The handle gets stuck to a lady's clothesline, messing up the lady's clothes and taking once piece with it. The lady joins in the chase. The kite settles down with a carpenter just as the chase party shows up. They retrieve their belongings and Brum starts to return home, but runs out of petrol from all the chasing. Using a sheet and pieces of wood, the carpenter builds a big kite which allows the wind to blow Brum back to the museum where the museum owner is surprised to see the kite.

Trivia[]
- This episode was recorded on 11 February 1991.
- This episode was uploaded to YouTube by WildBrain on 5 October 2016, 17 May 2017 and 8 July 2017.
- This is the only episode where Brum runs out of petrol.
- This and "Brum and the Scrapyard" are the only two episodes from the first two series where the museum owner does not take anything out of Brum, in this case due to the kite being too large. They, along with "Brum at the Opera", are also the only three episodes from the first series to use altered footage of the outro besides when the museum owner checks Brum's seat, once again due to the kite.
- It is unknown how Brum got refueled in later episodes. This could either be a weekly routine or it can add to the theory that the museum owner is aware of Brum's sentience and fuels him back up.
Goofs[]
- When Brum runs out of petrol, his drive belt is detached from his motor.
- Brum has his hand crank in one shot during the chase.
- Brum is able to reverse back into his parking spot despite there being no wind inside the museum.
